The Dirty Guv’nahs to headline 2014 concert!

31 Jul

The music lineup for the 2014 Weaver’s Weekend on Aug. 23, 2014 has been announced.

The Dirty Guv’nahs will roll into Macon after playing the previous night in Oxford, Mississippi and rock The Crazy Bull for a terrific night of music, which also will feature Sonia Leigh along with Gringo Grande.

Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door, ages 18+, with the entertainment beginning at 7:30 p.m.

The Dirty Guv’nahs, a six-piece brotherhood from Knoxville, Tennessee, have been called “a fiercely soulful band” by the Boston Globe, and has been affirmed by Paste Magazine to “know rock and roll from the inside out.”

The live experience of The Dirty Guv’nahs has been hailed as one of the best in the Southeast and according to Music Connection Magazine, “The Dirty Guv’nahs don’t just play music; they capture the human experience through song.”

Sonia Leigh has exploded onto the Nashville scene with her newest smash single, “Put It In Your Pocket” which debut on Sirius XM Radio, 59, The Highway on July 1st 2014. Sonia relocated to Nashville October 2012 from her longtime home of Atlanta and quickly began captivating Nashville audiences with her own special brand of female attitude modern country.

Macon’s own rootsy Southern rockers Gringo Grande will start the night off with plenty of foot-stompin’ and rowdy behavior.

The Friends of Mike Weaver Foundation honor the memory of their friend by raising money to support local youth sports in Macon. Each year the foundation funds The Mike Weaver Award at Vine-Ingle, which is given annually to the Vine-Ingle Little League player who most embodies the sportsmanlike attitude of Mike Weaver.

Tickets go on sale at noon Friday, August 1. They will be $15 in advance or $20 the day of the show at the venue.
